Who: Czap Books
What would you like people to know about your zines?
Our zine series Ley Lines is all about linking comics with other art forms – each issue invites the cartoonist to write a personal love letter to work that has made an impact on them. We’ve had issues inspired by specific artists, works of art, artistic concepts, and all of the above mixed together.
Tell us about a zine maker or zine that has had an impact on you.
HOAX zine by sari and rachel is a major favorite of mine. An anthology zine of essays dedicated to feminisms and the theme of the given issue (embodiments, healing, mythologies, etc) contributed so much to my education and awareness as a person in the world.
What are you looking forward to at L.A. Zine Fest 2019?
I’m really looking forward to experiencing the show for the first time, after hearing such great things. Also I am excited to look through all the zines, having not been to a zine-specific fest for a few years.
Make sure to check out Czap Books’ table at L.A. Zine Fest 2019 on Sunday, May 26th at Helms Bakery in Culver City!
