What would you like people to know about your zines?
I create zines as a means to document feelings, happenings, and thoughts that I don’t want to forget. Anything from my childhood pets and their weird antics, to the playlists that got me through specific heartaches, to diving into three generations of women in my family, the goal is documenting in a colorful way.
Tell us about a zine maker or zine that has had an impact on you.
St. Sucia’s zines were so inspiring to read. I loved that they were so raw and that they served as a platform for other Latinx womxn around the county. Reading them made me feel like I wasn’t the only one.
What are you looking forward to at L.A. Zine Fest 2019?
I’m really looking forward to meeting new folks in the zine community and also that I get to share my art which is very personal with folks.
Make sure to check out Mare.e.Fresh’s table at L.A. Zine Fest 2019 on Sunday, May 26th at Helms Bakery in Culver City!
