The sixth annual L.A. Zine Fest is taking place on Sunday, May 28 from 10 AM to 6 PM in the East and West Exhibit Halls of the California Market Center (110 E 9th St., Los Angeles, CA 90079).

Depending on where you’re coming from, it might be more convenient for you to exit Metro rail at either Pershing Square or 7th/Metro Center. (Both are basically the same walking distance from the venue.)
Buses are all over the place in Downtown, so that’s another great option.
Google Maps has solid public transit directions, so click the following link, input your address, and find the best route to the California Market Center from wherever you are: https://goo.gl/maps/hdVEx4XbBmS2.
The California Market Center has an underground parking garage where the day rate is $9. Enter the garage on either Main Street or Los Angeles Street between 9th Street and Olympic. Take the elevators up from the parking garage to the Exhibit Hall level.
The sites below offer parking maps that show other lots in the area, along with their price and relative fullness. They make it easy to compare prices and know whether a lot is full before you get there.
Street parking is also an option but can be scarce on weekends.
How do I get into the venue?
Enter the California Market Center (CMC) off 9th and Main streets. From the street, the CMC looks like a boring, tall office building.
Go around the short brown building on the corner and walk toward the interior of the block. Once you do that, you’ll see a row of doors to enter the CMC.
Walk through the main lobby, and volunteers will direct you toward the escalators into the Fest space. Attendees requiring elevator access to the space can continue past the escalators to the black elevators, which go down to the Exhibit Hall level.
Elevators and escalators arrive at the same place: the Exhibit Hall Lobby, where you can enter the Fest.
How much is it to get in?
L.A. Zine Fest is free, but we always accept donations.
Will there be air conditioning?
Is there bike valet?
Sorry, there is no bike valet this year. We hope to bring it back in the future!
Where are the restrooms?
Public restrooms are available upstairs, in CMC’s main lobby, near the street entrance to the venue. There will be volunteers directing people to the restrooms, so you won’t miss them!
Where can I buy lunch or something to drink?
Immediately outside the street entrance doors to the California Market Center, the liquor store Jason’s Wine & Spirits sells water, juice, and assorted non-booze beverages to keep you cool. (There is no alcohol allowed in the venue. Sorry.)
Within about a two-block radius of the venue, there are the following:
- 9th Street Pizza at Los Angeles/Santee
- Sonoratown at 8th/Los Angeles
- Pollo Loco at 9th/Santee
- Starbucks at 9th/Santee
- Subway on 9th/Santee
- Hot dog carts along Santee Street
- Two Boots Pizza on Broadway between 8th/9th
- Tacos Mexico on Broadway/ 9th
Those willing to walk a little bit farther can find:
Where are the ATMs?
There are three ATMs within about a block of the venue:
- One at the Union Bank on the same corner of 9th and Main as the California Market Center, on the 9th Street side
- Two Citibank ATMs between the street entrance to CMC and 9th Street
- One standalone, non-bank-affiliated ATM in the Joe’s Parking Lot on 9th/Main (along the Main Street side)
