WHO:  Third Press

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE PEOPLE TO KNOW ABOUT THE ZINES YOU CREATE AND/OR WHY YOU ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO TABLING AT L.A. ZINE FEST 2016?: Third Press was started as a way to give shape to histories, struggles, and ideas that had been living on in me over the years. After a couple of years of hibernation (read: post-college mayhem), I picked up a camera again and decided to start printing unapologetically. At the core of each project I’m moving closer towards vulnerability. I feel that’s the only way. My zines are explorations in approach either through humor, study, making, or personal/political questioning. For LA Zine Fest 2016, I’ll have some of my first edition zines – courtesy (pictured), summer pie no. 1, and guardarla (pictured) – and will be sharing new zines about a recent trip to Bangkok and reflections on learning to love my body by facing and undoing all of the subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) aggressions of the past 25 years. The best part of LAZF, though, is meeting all of the talented sweethearts out there. 🙂

Get to Know Your Zinester features collages of the 2016 Fest exhibitors.
Clockwise from left; the zinesters, their work, more work, and a source of inspiration!
