What was your first zine about and when was it made?
Nadia Adella: Daily Banana, it contain little drawings and words / quotes from my everyday life.
Shannen Roberts: In my freshman year of college, I was in a band called GrowYoung. I passed out zines at our shows called “Make Sense?” about the struggle to ‘make it’ as a DIY band.
Describe your most recent zine.
NA: The newest issue of Daily Banana (#2). It contain stories with drawings and photos from my everyday life!
SR: Nad and I had the weirdest Halloween, and of course we had a disposable camera with us at the time. It’s literally called “Halloween Zine.” #nvr4get
Of all the things you’ve ever made, zine-related or otherwise, what’s your one favorite?
NA: Hard boiled egg all day everyday.
SR: Omelete. 4 egg whites, spinach, and avo.
Name three of your influences and how they affected your work.
SR: Robert Downey Jr. is my motivation, Kathleen Hannah is my inspiration, Fiona Apple is my brain.
What do you do when you’re not creating and how does it help or harm what you do artistically?
NA: If I am not doodling or taking picture, I am cleaning up my bedroom. It somehow can inspire me to make more stuff.
SR: Yoga, gym, music, kitty, Law & Order….the last causes harm.
