What was your first zine about and when was it made?
The first zine I made was a color photocopy photo zine. A collection of random photos I had taken throughout the year, I believe I made it in 2010.
Describe your most recent zine.
My most recent zine is called #fearofmissingout. Photos of people at FYF Fest and Echopark Raising on their phones capturing the show. Also working on a new photo zine called Soy Un Perdedor, photos of objects that just don’t get any attention.
Of all the things you’ve ever made, zine-related or otherwise, what’s your one favorite?
I made a 36 page 8.5×11 handmade cloth covered hardcover book called mundane, mundane. The book consisted of photos shot on discontinued Kodak slide film. The slides were presented has a slide show at Cal State Nothridge’s Shed Gallery.
Name three of your influences and how they affected your work.
I can say Stanley Kubrick made me want to make movies. Both Lee Friedlander and William Eggleston made me want to take photos.
What do you do when you’re not creating and how does it help or harm what you do artistically?
When i’m not taking photos or folding zines im working full time. Takes up most of the day but pushes me to want to be outside and make images.
