Dear future applicants to the LA Zine Fest,
Thank you so much for your support and for your interest in tabling at the Zine Fest! We literally could not have this event without you and your zines. In an effort to continue providing a zine-rich experience for our visitors and tablers alike, we are stepping up the percentage total merchandise that is required to be zines. We ask that at least 75% of the items you will be selling are zines, and we will ask for some form of documentation of what you will be selling in the application.
That means that you will need to supply either pictures or links to the zines you’ll be selling. So as not to discourage first-time zinesters from applying, detailed descriptions of zines in progress (or soon to be started) will definitely be accepted.
The date that registration opens has not yet been determined, but we’ll be giving you at least a month’s advance notice before we start accepting and reviewing applications. You will have plenty of time to prepare! This note is just to let you know that things are going to be a little different this year and to help everyone get ready for the process.
And let it be known that anyone who totally lies about what they’ll be tabling, bringing tons of felted hats and t-shirts instead of the zines they promised, will NOT be allowed to apply the following year. We will remember you.
