BorderComics 2013 aims to provide a forum for Tijuana youth to learn and participate in the creative process of comic art development and production, while interacting creatively and culturally with local Tijuana and Los Angeles-based comic artists. This event is a continuation of a binational partnership between IMAC and the Center for the Arts Eagle Rock (CFAER) in California.
There will be conferences, an accompanying exhibition opening, short films, music, cosplay, and more!
I’m going to have half a table at this amazing event in Tijuana. Break out your passport and come say hello! It’s looking to be a full day of forums, fun, and (hopefully) buying up a boatload of comics and zines in Spanish. It’s kind of a dream come true.
I’ll be selling my own personal zines, LA Zine Fest t-shirts and the Guide To L.A., plus I’ll be formally introducing the works of MC Sunflower Jones Productions to a new audience! Also tabling the event are Keenan M. Keller, Tom Neely, Matt Furie, Marcos Siref, Dave Van Patten, and the genius who got me a ticket on this fun bus, Rebecca Inducil.
Note: all merch will be priced in pesos; exchange your dollas.
