A Panel Discussion with Alice Bag, Allison Wolfe, and Drew Denny
Moderated by K. Bradford
Sunday, February 17th
6:00 – 7:30 pm
@ The Moth Theatre
This is our Dream Team for 2013: Alice Bag; Allison Wolfe, Drew Denny. Collectively, they’ve been in over ten bands; individually, their accomplishments include releasing a independent feature film, helping to start LadyFest, and creating an archive of interviews with women who were pivotal contributors to and participants in the early days of the punk movement in L.A. They are educators and activists, zinemakers and artists. When their experiences come together in one place, we’ll all be made better for it.
Moderated by author K. Bradford, their discussion will touch on, among other things, the punk and riot grrrl movements from an active participant’s point of view, promoting creative exchange, lessons learned from collaborative enterprises, and strategies for turning anger and frustration into positive forces. We can’t wait to hear what these ladies have to share with us!
FYI: seating to this talk is extremely limited, so advance tickets will be required in order to attend. Advance tickets are FREE and can be gotten at the LAZF Merch Table in the Ukrainian Cultural Center. Tickets will be released at 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm, with 10 final tickets being released at 6:00 to the first 10 people in line at the entrance to The Moth Theatre.
The talk will be video recorded and posted online in the days following the Fest.
