Describe your zine style. What can we expect to find at your table?
Hello World Zine encompasses a clear narrative through comics and a wide array of genuine artwork and poetry from contributors from all over the world. At the Bombshell Comics/Hello World Zine table, you’ll find 6 years of continuous producing and self-publishing from comics to zines, to graphic novels. The themes range from pro wrestling to U.F.O’s… and soon, a book chronicling the discovery of a very rare 1969 AMF ‘muscle bike’ from a rooftop in Philadelphia.
Where do you work on your zines?
I have the fortune to work from home, but I can just about create anywhere… Any particular place offers a unique placement of energy that one may tap in too… Depending what I’m working on, i’ll move to that environment.
What are your three favorite small-press/DIY publications?
Anything from an an honest and passionate standpoint I can be inspired by and enjoy. Great application of line is also something I’m lured in to when enjoying my small press desires.
What advice would you give to a first-time zinester or to an aspiring zinemaker?
An idea might be to pull from known or experienced sources of reference.. They say the best work you can reflect upon is what you’ve experienced – So, get to it and live!!.
What’s the best thing that ever happened to you because of zines?
The best thing that ever happened to me because of zines, was a further realization in to the awakening of freedom and our first right as American citizens. Freedom of speech and zines go hand-in-hand.
