Describe your zine style. What can we expect to find at your table?
It will be a mixture of my works as well as other artists that I’m sharing the table with namely Adam Roth, Andrew Felix, and David Aguilar. There will be books, comix, zines, prints, maybe some music, shirts, buttons and some original art. The new issue of Post-Care will be there too!
We all work on it at our own homes or coffeeshops but sometimes we mainly all get together at the Malohaus where I have a studio set-up and materials we can use.
What are your three favorite small-press/DIY publications?
I like mainly comix zines but iIdo read zines -just cant think of any at the top of my head. Everything that Drippy Bone Books puts out is fantastic -and im always impressed the quality that Keenan puts in producing his books. Pop-Ook by Hamo Bahnam is another one that i really like and those books by the prolific JT Steiny always grab me every single fucking time I see them.
Make TIME to do it and Most of us are really just over-thinking about the the things we want to do that we dont realize THAT is what is hindering us from being able to do it. The beauty of zines is that it is a really personalized outlet of expression -so it can practically be however you want it to be. Reading existing ones also helps you get ideas and inspiration. Then find a good printer to work with. Just keep doing it! Make a zine every week!
