Well, the 1st zine i ever made was RING PIECE w/a friend/coworker Michael Bevry and it was a group zine of work from all the employees at Giant Robot…After that I started doing my own thangs…
Well, Drippy Bone Books just released 2 new zines:
- CARTOONSHOW by Derek M Ballard, which is a collection of Derek‘s work. His style is completely his own, a use of angular forms and mysterious actions lead readers through ambiguous stories of sexually charged, surreal madness and beauty, which linger and drip from your mind as you try to forget them later. Derek’s is a strong voice in art today, screaming to be heard.
- The 2nd release is Fashion Statement by Bella Dehm, a series of altered/defaced images from fashion magazines by Bella Dehm. Funny, strange and speaking to the primordial need to draw mustaches, scars and buggers on depictions of beautiful people. Bella is now 7 years old.
As for upcoming works we have tons lined up for next year. My comic, Galactic Breakdown #4 will be out in Jan 2012 along with my mini comic, Welcome Fever, It’s Me – The Magic!, also we are planning on doing new comix by, Pat Aulisio, Victor “Bald Eagles” Cayro, and possibly a second release from Derek M Ballard! Also “i will destroy you” will be co-publishing a series of Tijuana Bibles by a hows how of rad comic artists! Plus WHORE EYES #5, and several other zines! Next year is looking pretty rad. Hopefully I do not go bankrupt!
Like I stated before music is an important aspect of my life. I do not have a stitch of musical talent but my beautiful wife does and her world and her art feed me as much as my own.
I also am surrounded by family and an ever growing roster of rad friends/collaborators whom make this world worth existing for me. Thats the shit that keep me going when i am no being creative… but the goal is never not to be.
Partying, ya know. raging and getting stoopid also helps when i’m stuck too.
