How To Get There / Go Metro / Parking
LA Zine Fest
Helms Bakery District Parking Garage
(between La Dijonaise and Vitra)
8711 Washington Blvd.
Culver City, CA 90232
The city of Culver City has asked that there be no event parking on residential streets. Parking on main ones like Washington or Venice is perfectly fine, and there are two free lots on Venice (at Helms Avenue) specifically for the Helms Bakery. Venice has mostly two-hour parking, but Washington’s meters will be off because it’s Sunday, so check there!
**Don’t forget: Jamzilla is the same weekend as LA Zine Fest, closing two lanes of traffic on the 405 from Getty Center Dr. north to Ventura Blvd. **
If you don’t want to deal with finding a spot, Go Metro and receive a free zine when you show your valid TAP card, Metrolink ticket, or LA County employee card at the LA Zine Fest information table at the event entrance, while supplies last. The Culver City Expo station is right across the street from Helms–so convenient!
Metro provides rail & bus transportation to Culver City via the Metro Expo Line and Metro Rapid 733. For your best trip, visit the Metro Trip Planner at metro.net or call (323) Go Metro (323.466.3876).
There are also plenty of bike racks at the nearby Culver City Expo Line station and on site at Helms, so biking to the Fest is another great way to avoid parking hassles. There is also a repair station for bikes behind Arcana Books on the Washington side of Helms Bakery, in case you get a flat or need some air.
